First, a little bit about me.

I became a follower of Jesus over four decades ago. During that time I have gained a fair amount of life experience, and have found that I’m a teacher. I’ve been involved in church leadership, men’s and youth groups, missions work, and prison outreach. I’ve been an RN for almost 30 years (mostly dialysis and ICU), have a couple degrees, and I’m happily married. Most of all, I want to know Jesus Christ, and to seek Him. He IS truth, and I want to have that truth transform my life – each and every day.

Now a little bit about what we do here!

TruthAnchor asserts that there is one thing in life that does not change – ever. That unchanging thing is God’s Word, the TRUTH. Many people say the Bible is out of date, that it has failed to keep pace with modern life. However, the exact opposite is true. The Word of God is more relevant than you or I can possibly imagine. Science, politics, sexuality, and history are just some of the subjects we will discuss here.

The Word of God addresses all these things and more. While it ought to be considered in every area of life, it’s evident that this world is in trouble because people reject that very Word. Every human problem can be traced back to what people do with the Word, or rather, what they don’t do with it.

TruthAnchor affirms that God’s truth is unchanging and eternal. This principle provides hope, and is an anchor for the soul (Heb 6:17-20 NKJV). Its application in an individual’s life provides peace, encouragement and direction in an increasingly turbulent world.

Here are the qualities which will be used as guidelines for the articles provided here at TruthAnchor. By doing so I hope to build confidence and dependability in what is being put forth. I promise to abide by these principles, and so will anyone else who posts here.

Truth involves holding facts – especially God’s Word – above personal biases and propensities. If something put out by us is ever found to be untruthful, it would be an unintentional slip and it will be rectified immediately. No deceit, no tricks, no subterfuge.

Dedication involves the application of effort to get positive results, especially when that application of effort is difficult or challenging. It also involves making sure that once something is started it gets finished. The trend in the world is toward more and more instant gratification, and the cost for that is usually a lack of dedication. We won’t be doing that here.

Respect is the estimation of worth I/we grant to all individuals, both to me and from me, as well as toward the people I serve through my personal and professional life. There will always be individuals who disagree with what you say, and that is their right. However, if I am to present the Word of God and a godly attitude then respect is the best way to go about approaching others, even and especially if we don’t see eye to eye on things.

Consistency is the steadfast reliability we employ when fulfilling the obligations, tasks and commitments that have been undertaken. Dependability and consistency are traits that show excellence of character.

Finally, the defining Scripture for everyone involved in supplying articles through TruthAnchor is this;

 2 Tim 2:15-16

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

NKJV
