Dear Edward; ‘Faith’ In Science

Dear Edward; ‘Faith’ In Science

You seem to put a lot of importance on ‘faith’ in science, to the exclusion of the Word of God. You mention you were raised as a Christian but did you ever surrender your life to Christ? Hopefully, you have not become an apostate. You seem to be an intelligent person but you are making mistakes at a basic science level, so I’ll review a few core Christian concepts to spur your memory;

1. Life is not about what you know, it’s about Who you know-and Who knows you. If evolution is true then this discussion about all these facts, you, me and indeed everyone and everything in this universe is pointless. On the other hand, if it is false then it is an individual’s personal responsibility to find the One Who created it all.

2. The Bible does not go into details like the ones you mention because that is not the purpose of the Book. The Bible is provided as a vehicle to point people toward Christ (yes, both OT & NT). Part of the joy of living, other than enjoying a personal relationship with God through Christ, is the wonder of discovering how marvelous and intricate the workings of God are. They are clearly displayed for all to see and why they are merely referred to, not spelled out. Where do you think some of the greatest minds in history (like Newton) got their inspiration from?

3. “The Bible doesn’t include details about the future.” (that is my paraphrase). Perhaps then you can clarify a few things for me? How about what the Word has to say concerning;

  • A single individual born hundreds of years in the future,
  • What country this Man will be born in,
  • What city (in that named country) He will be born in,
  • What year He will be born in,
  • What lineage He will be born to (named for not just one but BOTH ‘parents’),
  • His approximate age when He is killed,
  • HOW He is killed,
  • WHERE He is killed,
  • WHY He is killed,
  • Where He will be buried,
  • How long He will be in the grave,

and best of all –

  • What happens AFTER He is raised from the dead?

4. You are incorrect when you state the Bible is scientifically worthless – you just don’t know how to use the Manual. That is your own doing, not God’s.

The end result of all this posting comes down to a central theme – faith. People that reject the Word of God and use science as a crutch see the evidence of creation and interpret it incorrectly because they refuse to believe in the Creator. People who once believed are filled with the pseudoscience/religion of evolution (not unlike yourself?) and become deceived. That is horrendous on multiple levels. Not only will you stand before Christ and answer as to why you rejected His Word over something transitory (“science”), but also because of the damning influence you have over people with unstable souls. It’s called personal responsibility and accountability. You should be familiar with those concepts.

Most of all I suspect you (if you indeed ever really were a Christian) were fed some powerless pabulum from some seminary graduate (who didn’t really believe himself), while attending some dead church. These ‘pastors and educators’ probably graduated from a philosophical college that claimed to teach Christian principles but in all likelihood they were deceived themselves by corrupt individuals – never knowing the power of the resurrection.

If any of this is news to you, or you never heard it before, then my suspicions will have been practically confirmed.

My advice to you is to repent and believe the gospel. Get a right relationship with my Father, which He freely offers to all, through the work of His Son Jesus Christ. If you have never been saved, it is called the New Birth. If you are backslidden, it is called repentance and reaffirmation.

My prayers are with you as you (hopefully) contemplate the truth.

A son and servant of the King.
