Properly understanding God’s Word – the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments – is absolutely essential if anyone is serious about their relationship with God. We are saved by faith alone, as a gift from God, and faith can only come by hearing (physically and/or spiritually) God’s Word (Rom 10:17). Once we are saved by faith, we are to then renew our minds to the same Word which drew us to saving faith in Christ. Biblical interpretation and exegesis is the way God has provided for us to grow in our faith as well as our understanding of spiritual truth. If you want to become more grounded in the truth of God’s Word, and thereby avoid a lot of the errant teaching prevalent today, this site is a must!
This company is like the Wal-Mart of Christian-oriented books, videos and supplies. A high volume of mail-order and internet traffic, along with monthly sales on selected items, help to defer costs to CBD. They have a good variety of items for sale and prices are usually more than reasonable.
While it is a well-known source of information on a vast array of topics, Wikipedia has a definitely pro-liberal slant when it comes to many controversial subjects, such as the creation-evolution debate along with many other examples. Conservapedia was originally started as a resource to aid home school educators, but has quickly grown in both scope and purpose. If you want an alternative wiki, please visit this site.
Politics and US Government
I think it’s safe to state that most Americans don’t understand the spiritual and political realities of how, and why, this nation was founded. As a direct result there have been numerous forms of legislation enacted which have eroded the foundations of our republican form of government. In response to that negative pressure, Wall Builders was founded by David Barton “to exert a direct and positive influence in government, education, and the family by (1) educating the nation concerning the Godly foundation of our country; (2) providing information to federal, state, and local officials as they develop public policies which reflect Biblical values; and (3) encouraging Christians to be involved in the civic arena.”
This site offers – free of charge – a tremendous volume of literature, quotes and other examples of original source documents in helping accomplish this worthy goal. If you desire to know what the Founding Fathers really said, what they meant and why they did what they did, then this needs to be your first stop.
Science, Creationism vs. Evolution, and More
The Discovery Institute is a collection of various disciplines centered around the understanding that the universe, with all its marvels and complexity, was formed by God (Intelligent Design). Contrary to populist ideology we are not evolved pond scum, and this site offers explanations and evidences you will almost certainly never encounter in today’s ‘progressive’ educational system.
Economics, Intelligent Design and Leadership are just some of the topics broached in the many pages they present on their site. While not necessarily Christian-based, the information they present is straightforward, scientific and well documented.
Social/Societal and Ministry Organizations
Jay Sekulow and the legal team at the American Center for Law and Justice are on the front lines of social and legal wrangling in the US. They are actively involved in maintaining and defending the expression of Christian values on both state and federal levels, and offer sound counsel in policy formation. They tirelessly defend those who stand up for their Constitutional rights including freedom of religion, the right to bear arms and a whole host of other basic rights granted to the people of the United States of America. If you are interested in what the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights and other legal documents have to say about our laws (versus what is often mistakenly assumed to be true), then by all means bookmark this page.
An organization of black Christian pastors and leaders who offer a Biblical, Christian, conservative response to the deterioration of the family. They view the decline of core Christian values and the prevalence of other social ills as a direct result of the abandonment of the Word of God by our society. While this organization is primarily focused on the black community, the principles espoused by these fine brothers and sisters crosses all barriers, simply because they are Christian principles.
