God Uses the Weak – Part 2

An abandoned wooden storefront is in the center of the image, with weeds surrounding the ground and vines growing up the sides and front of the building. A clear blue sky is overhead.

People think differently than God does. That’s an understatement, for sure! While God does what He does for a reason, why is it that He uses the weak? God uses the weak simply because they are weak. God routinely uses

God Uses the Weak

An abandoned wooden storefront is in the center of the image, with weeds surrounding the ground and vines growing up the sides and front of the building. A clear blue sky is overhead.

Sometimes I feel useless in my walk with God. Do you ever feel that way, too? I’ve heard that God uses the weak to accomplish His plan, but there are times when I have trouble believing that.  Why is that

What Is Love?

A lantern with 3 lit candles sits in the right foreground, and a small, bright green plant in a terracotta pot is in the left foreground. The blurred background contains a small yard with multicolored flowers in the distance and a patch of tall grass in front of them.

Social Justice Warriors

A stone walkway leads to stone steps curving upwards from left bottom to right upper frame of the picture. There is a water spillway on the right side of the walkway, and various plants and shrubs line either side. beneath a clear, blue sky.

The scene may change but the activity of social justice warriors remain the same. What once started out as an online strategy to combat racism and bigotry has morphed into something else entirely. It once had a positive connotation, but

Foundations of Evolution

A hillside of orange dirt worn away by wind and waves, topped with grasses and trees, The bare roots of the trees are exposed and the trees look weather beaten and gnarled.

I was recently involved in a Disqus exchange regarding the bias present in the Creation/Evolution controversy. Eventually the discussion focused on the foundations of evolution and why many seem to have such animus against the concept of creation. I thought

I Can’t Do This

A nature trail with a gravel path from left upper to right lower in the picture. The path becomes very rocky and difficult to walk on at the bottom of the picture.

Everyone has said I can’t do this at some point. We go through life and do the best we can, but eventually we face a time when our ‘best’ isn’t good enough. We’re lost and don’t know what to do.

To Love God – Part 2

Closeup photo of a mass of Black-eyed Susan flowers.

To love God is to seek Him, right? To love God is to desire to please Him, too. Isn’t that so? We tend to think about loving God in the context of what we do for Him, but it’s more

To Love God

Closeup photo of a mass of Black-eyed Susan flowers.

What does it mean to love God? Many people claim to love God, including Christians, Jews, Muslims, and many other folks, but there’s a lot of difference in how that claim is worked out. If someone claims to love God

TruthAnchor Update

A black anchor sitting upright on a white background, the top of the anchor displaying a white cross inset within the two arms and shank. There are three gray atomic rings surrounding the anchor, and the name TRUTHANCHOR.COM is underneath the anchor.

Changes are coming to the TruthAnchor.com blog! Things have been very busy for me (including starting a new book), and I want to focus on the quality of what is offered here. In order to do that some features need

Trust In the Lord With All Your Heart!

The flames of a brick and stone oven are pictured though the open mouth of the oven. A hand holds a large oven spatula on the right side, with green foliage in the upper left corner and pink flowers in the upper right corner of the picture.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart. That is the biblical instruction found in Proverbs 3:5, and if you’ve been a Christian for a while then I’m sure you’ve heard it quoted often. Doing so promises safety, provision, and
