The Creation-Evolution Controversy

The Creation-Evolution Controversy

I have had a few days of some pretty lively creation versus evolution discussions in a couple of the blogs I follow. There is a debate scheduled for February 4, 2014 between Ken Ham and Bill Nye concerning the validity of the evidence that ‘supports’ each view. I personally will be only too happy to pay the $5 for the streaming video in order to get a chance to see this one!

There are a lot of people out there who subscribe to the theory of evolution instead of creation, although they don’t call it a theory at all. They claim that there is undeniable proof for evolution, both the life-from-nonlife type as well as the progression-from-one-species-to-another type. The ‘evidence’ they point to is for them undeniable, and without any serious question as to validity. For the most part I agree with them.

WHAT? ARE YOU CRAZY??

Absolutely not! The facts that people bring up are exactly what they are – facts. The problem is that people do different things with these facts. Some people are ignorant of the multitude of contrary statistics, fossils and other evidence available, simply because they have never heard them presented. That isn’t very surprising because almost all school systems, from kindergarten up, are skewed toward evolution.

Some people aren’t ignorant, they simply choose not to acknowledge or believe in them.

Still others not only disbelieve them, but they are antagonistic to them. It’s because these facts threaten their ‘faith’ in evolution. This is the typical (and dangerous) approach that these types of evolutionists have. If they ‘believe’ that the contrary evidence is even possible, it stands as a refutation of their whole existence. So then, it is no longer a question of listening to the other side with an unbiased mind; it becomes a problem of a stubborn rejection of any possible truth that can set them free from the real culprit. The real culprit is, of course, sin.
